A full stack developer is useful when the risk is in the seams: the form that must hit the API, the permission that must match the UI, the webhook that must match billing. Split teams drop those seams. One owner cannot.
I ship React.js interfaces, Next.js when SEO or a unified app matters, NestJS / Node.js or Python on the server, and the database model the business actually runs on.
MERN is a starting point, not a religion
MongoDB, Express/Nest, React.js, Node.js is a proven path for many SaaS and CRM products. It is the wrong path when you already have Postgres, a Python service, or a marketing site that must rank. A full stack developer should say which one you actually need.
